Qualified Pre-Owned and Reconditioned Golf Cars

At Harris Golf Cars, every qualified pre-owned and reconditioned golf car goes through a Harris warranty inspection and receives a Harris Golf Cars Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Checklist.

Warranty coverage is based on the golf car’s age, make, model, fuel type, and battery configuration. Qualified golf cars receive up to 3 years of Harris Golf Cars Certified Pre-Owned Warranty coverage, with the specific warranty term stated at the time of sale.

Gas Golf Cars

  • 1–5 years old: Up to 3-year Harris Golf Cars Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
  • 6–10 years old: Up to 2-year Harris Golf Cars Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
  • 11–15 years old: Up to 1-year Harris Golf Cars Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
  • 16+ years old: Warranty coverage, if any, will be stated at the time of sale.

For qualified Yamaha gas golf cars, the applicable warranty covers electrical components, motor/engine, and drivetrain. Batteries are not covered. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or other damage is not covered. Harris Golf Cars reserves the right to determine what constitutes negligence, misuse, or damage.

Required Annual Tune-Up

For gas golf cars receiving a warranty of two years or longer, the golf car must receive a tune-up performed by a Harris Golf Cars service technician within 30 days of the first anniversary of the purchase date to maintain applicable warranty coverage.

The standard tune-up fee applies. If the golf car cannot be brought to a Harris Golf Cars location, an on-site tune-up may be scheduled; a service call fee will apply based on the distance from the nearest Harris Golf Cars location.

If the required tune-up is not completed by a Harris Golf Cars service technician within this time frame, applicable additional warranty coverage will not be recognized.

The addition of aftermarket parts or accessories not installed by an authorized Harris Yamaha service provider may void this warranty.

Electric Golf Cars

  • 1–5 years old: Up to 2-year Harris Golf Cars Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
  • 6–10 years old: Up to 1-year Harris Golf Cars Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
  • 11+ years old: Warranty coverage, if any, will be stated at the time of sale.

For qualified Yamaha gas golf cars, the applicable warranty covers electrical components, electric motor, drivetrain, and charger. Batteries are not covered unless specifically stated otherwise at the time of sale. Battery coverage varies based on the age and battery configuration of the vehicle. New batteries installed are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or other damage is not covered.

Electric golf car controllers are not covered when damaged as a result of lightning strikes or power surges.

Owner’s Responsibilities

  1. Operate and maintain the golf car and charger, if applicable, according to the appropriate owner’s manual.
  2. Notify Harris Golf Cars of any apparent defect within 7 days of discovery and make the golf car or charger available for inspection and/or repair by a Harris Golf Cars representative.
  3. For gas golf cars with applicable multi-year warranty coverage, schedule and complete the required tune-up with a Harris Golf Cars service technician within 30 days of the first anniversary of purchase.
  4. Review the applicable battery maintenance requirements and battery maintenance forms with your Harris Golf Cars sales representative at the time of purchase. Follow all recommended battery maintenance procedures and retain completed maintenance documentation as required for warranty coverage.
  5. Failure to properly maintain the golf car, charger, or batteries according to the applicable owner’s manual and maintenance requirements may affect warranty coverage.

Transportation for Warranty Service

Transportation of the golf car or charger to and from a Harris Golf Cars location for warranty service is not covered under this warranty. Any transportation or hauling costs incurred for warranty service are the responsibility of the customer.
